Setting
Once Clay receives the tapes from the previous receiver there is many places he has to go. He follows Hannah's map as he hears her throughout her tapes. There are many important points in the small town where Clay and Hannah lived. Clay visits significant points as Hannah mentions them. One of the points is Rosie's dinner which is where she was stood up. A second place is Eisenhower Park which was where Hannah's first took place but it's also the place where all the rumors began. Blue spot Liquor was where she was touched improperly. Monet's café was where Hannah not only met her first friends when she was new but it was also where she first lost them over non-significant actions. The parties and the high school also play a big role in Hannah's suicide reasons, 4 of Hannah's starts actually take part in parties which gives out betrayal from Courtney and denial from Clay. At High school it was where her last hope was at she wanted Mr. Porter to stop her and tell her he would help but sadly he didn't. Then there were some good places for example the movie theater in which Hannah and Clay bonded and became co-workers even thought it was not a star on her map. Then towards the end of the book the last place Clay visits before going to the mail room the next day is the gas station which is where Clay finishes the day looks back and intakes all that happen that day. Clay was determined to follow all these places to see and get the idea of what really happened.
